RF / Analog DESIGN ENGINEER
AKELA is seeking results driven, self motivated individuals who work well in small teams or independently. The successful candidate will be part of a team contributing to radar system design and will be directly responsible for design and development of subsystems from start to finish, starting with circuit design, circuit analysis, schematic capture, and circuit board layout; proceeding to system integration, test, and trouble shooting; and finishing with system performance verification, and field testing.
BSEE/MSEE with 3+ years experience in industry with a track record of completed designs and demonstrated problem solving abilities.
Candidate must possess many of the following skills and experience with:
- Radar and radar signal processing principles
- Thorough understanding of gain distribution and dynamic range principle and practices
- RF and microwave experience IF to 6 GHz required, higher frequency experience desirable
- Wide band multi-octave, multi-decade RF design
- A/D converter implementation for high dynamic range
- Digital Down Conversion
- Analog IF strips including filters and gain controls
- RF low noise high dynamic range amplifier design
- RF Medium Power Amplifier design
- Low noise high bandwidth Phase Locked Loop frequency synthesizers
- Direct Digital Synthesis
- Block up and down converters
- Digital circuitry and interfaces supporting RF electronics
Candidates must be available for travel to participate in system field testing at remote locations within the U.S.
